Awakening
Next week, students around our nation will gather together around their school flagpoles to pray for an awakening. See You At The Pole began back in 1990 when a small group of teenagers from Burlson, Texas came together for a DiscipleNow weekend. They came seeking God and little did they know how powerfully He was about to move. On Saturday night their hearts were penetrated like never before, when they became broken before God and burdened for their friends. Compelled to pray, they drove to three different schools that night. Not knowing exactly what to do, they went to the school flagpoles and prayed for their friends, schools, and leaders. Those students had no idea how God would use their obedience.
See You At The Pole give students an intentional focus for prayer and we are surrounding this focus with two events for students to gather together to worship and pray to our God for a great awakening. Tuesday night, we will hold our Pre-SYATP Rally in the First Baptist Church sanctuary at 7:00 p.m.. Then on Wednesday night, we will hold our United service with other churches in our area at Bethany Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m.. Jarrod Morris, worship pastor at Crosspoint Community Church in Nashville, Tennessee, will be leading in worship. Carlton Hicks, Youth Pastor at Concord Baptist Church in Clermont, Georgia, will be speaking for both events.
