D-Now Reflection

On Friday afternoon I was driving back from Pensacola with the Disciple Now leaders who could actually make a flight into town and I came across a church sign that was absolutely what I needed to see. "Make your plans in pencil, but give God the eraser. Everything leading up to our Disciple Now weekend seemed to be perfectly in place for an incredible weekend. Everyone was ready and excited to get started on Friday night, but no one could have predicted the weather. Over half of our leaders could not come in at the very last minute and we had to delay the start until Saturday morning due to the weather this past weekend. I was reminded that God is still in control and I am thankful that His plans are not my own. In the end, our students were challenged with God's word and many of them were changed for the glory of God. The best part of the story is that one young man who struggled to keep his own will, realized a desperate need for a Savior. In a moment that will not be forgotten, I sat with him and watched as he released his own and gave himself completely to God experiencing a new found freedom in Christ he had not known before. A weekend like this reminds us that God is good and He alone is worthy of our praise!
